  • 1 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil ((or walnut oil or 1/2c fruit juice))
  • 1 tablespoon lemon, rind of
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon powdered ginger
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 3 ounces candied ginger, chopped very fine
