- 8 oz. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- grated rind of 2 lemons
- 1/2 c. sugar, dissolved in juice of 2 lemons
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Beat well.

2Add lemon rind.

3Sift together dry ingredients.

4Add alternately with milk.

5Pour into 3 medium loaf pans.

6Bake at 350° for about 45 to 60 minutes.

7Turn from pans to cake rack covered with wax paper.

8Drizzle the sugar and juice over the loaves.

9Cool.

10Double wrap to freeze.

11Cream cheese spread on slices is delicious.
