  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cream sugar and margarine.

    Add egg; combine vanilla, lemon extract and milk.

    Add alternately with dry ingredients.

    Bake at 350° in greased and floured loaf pan for 30 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.

    Let stand 5 to 10 minutes and remove from pan.

    As soon as taken from oven and before removing from pan, top with 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk, which have been stirred and heated together.
