  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. confectioners sugar
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • grated zest of 1 lemon and juice of 3 lemons

Directions

    Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Sift together the flour, salt and soda. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to the egg mixture. Stir in zest and nuts.

    Pour in 2 greased loaf pans and bake 1 hour at 350°.
