- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 extra large eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. lemon
Directions

1Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.

2Cream butter and Crisco shortening thoroughly.

3Add sugar a little bit at a time, creaming well after each addition.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.

5Add sifted flour mixture and milk alternately, beginning and ending with flour.

6Add lemon and vanilla flavoring.

7Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done.
