  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon

    Cream butter and Crisco with sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each.

    Sift cake flour and baking powder.

    Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk.

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°.
