- 2 lb. sugar (approximately 4 c.)
- rind of 4 lemons, peeled with potato peeler
- juice of 4 lemons (the juicier the better)
- 1 oz. tartaric acid (approximately 3 Tbsp. from pharmacy)
- boiled water
Directions

1Put sugar and lemon rinds in a large bowl and cover with boiling water (enough to cover lemon rinds).

2Add lemon juice and tartaric acid.

3Let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours.

4Strain and bottle.

5Dilute with cold water to taste.
