Lentil Soup

Ingredients
- dried lentils, cleaned carefully
- 4 to 5 chopped onions
- salt and pepper
- 1 Tbsp. cumin (ground)
- olive oil
- tiny squares Lebanese bread, fried
- water
- lemon juice (optional)
Directions

1Wash the lentils and drain well.

2Fry the onions in the olive oil until golden brown.

3Add the lentils; season them with the salt, pepper and ground cumin.

4Cover the whole with water.

5Boil; then let them cook on medium heat until well done.

6Puree them or pass them through a food mill.

7The soup must have a thick consistency, but if you prefer it thinner, you could add a little water.

8Serve with the squares of Lebanese bread as croutons.

9Try also a squeeze of lemon in each serving.
