Directions

1Wash lentils and soak overnight.

2Place in a large pan, adding 4 pints of hot water.

3Simmer until the lentils begin to soften, stirring from time to time.

4When the lentils are half-cooked, add the chopped onions and continue to simmer until the lentils are quite tender.
