- 2 c. plain corn meal
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/4 c. oil
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Mix all dry ingredients.

3Add milk and eggs.

4Melt 1/4 cup margarine and 1/4 cup cooking oil in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Pour half of oil mixture in batter; leave rest in pan.

6Pour batter in pan and use a spoon to spoon excess oil on top of batter.

7This forms a thick crust.

8Bake at 425° for 40 to 45 minutes.
