- 9 lb. pickles, sliced
- 2 gal. water
- 2 c. agriculture hydrated lime
- 2 qt. white vinegar
- 4 1/2 lb. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed (rounded)
- 1 tsp. pickling spice (rounded)
Directions

1Mix pickles, water and lime.

2Stir a couple of times and soak 24 hours.

3After soaking, rinse pickles 3 times.

4Add to pickles the vinegar, sugar, salt, celery seed and pickling spice.

5Let set overnight.

6Then cook 35 minutes and jar, open kettle method. Makes about 6 quarts.
