- 7 lb. 1/4-inch sliced cucumbers
- 2 c. lime
- 2 gal. water
- 1/4 tsp. green food coloring
- 2 qt. white vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. salt
- 4 1/2 lb. sugar
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. pickling spice
Directions

1Soak cucumbers, lime and water in crock for 24 hours.

2Then, rinse 2 or 3 times in cold water.

3Again soak 3 hours in cold water; drain.

4Place spices in tied cloth bag and heat with vinegar, salt, sugar and coloring until sugar is dissolved. Pour over drained cucumbers and let soak overnight.

5In morning, heat slowly until heated through.

6Let boil slowly for 35 minutes. Place in jars and seal hot.
