  • 9-inch unbaked pie crust, thawed to room temperature
  • 6 c. Red Delicious apples, peeled and cored, sliced very thin (about 5 to 6 apples)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, chipped up

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour. Stir with a fork until well mixed.

    Add apples to this mixture a little at a time, tossing well to coat apples.

    Spoon filling into pie crust; add chipped butter over top.

    Set aside.
