- 1 lb linguine pasta
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
Directions

1Cook the pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup of the cooking water.

2Meanwhile, blend or process the garlic, nuts and cheese until finely chopped. Add the basil and process until chopped. With the motor still running, add the oil in a thin stream until combined. Transfer the pesto to a bowl and season to taste.

3Add enough of the pesto and reserved cooking water to coat the pasta lightly; toss to combine.
