- 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 3 egg whites, beaten
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. chocolate extract
- confectioners sugar for garnish
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Spray 13 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

3In large, heavy saucepan cook 1 cup chips, sugar, applesauce and margarine over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

4Remove from heat; cool slightly.

5Beat in egg whites.

6Beat in remaining ingredients and chips.

7Spread in prepared pan.

8Bake 20 to 25 minutes until set. Cool in pan on wire rack.

9Garnish.
