Ingredients
- 14 cup butter
- 1 cup dates, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 12-1 cup sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 cup flour
- 1 cup walnuts or 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 14-12 teaspoon cinnamon (to taste)
Directions

1Coat a 9-inch square pan with cooking spray.

2Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

3Melt butter gently in a heavy bottom saucepan.

4Remove pan from heat.

5Add dates, eggs, sugar and salt.

6Mix well.

7Mix in baking powder.

8Gently stir in flour, nuts and cinnamon.

9Spread batter into prepared baking pan evenly.

10Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

11Cut into 12 bars (4 rows one way and 3 rows the other way) or other serving size desired.
