  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped (3/4 c.)
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans low sodium tomato sauce
  • 2 (4 1/2 oz.) jars sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 (6 oz.) can Italian style tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning, crushed
  • 2 tsp. fennel seed, crushed
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
  • 12 oz. spaghetti
