  • 3 (28 oz.) cans Italian plum tomatoes
  • drippings from Meatballs and Sausage (recipes to follow)
  • fresh or dry basil
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 12 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 empty tomato paste cans of water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

    Put tomatoes in large saucepan.

    Let it come to a boil, crush it and let it

    boil for about 40 minutes uncovered.

    Add drippings from Meatballs and Sausage

    and the meat. Let boil for another 1/2 hour with

    the meat.

    At same time you add the meat add the basil, about 3

    to 4 leaves or 1 teaspoon dry and salt.

    Then put in the

    paste with the water and sugar and let boil another
