Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fine egg noodles
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 3 large onions
  • 1 bunch celery
  • 2 green peppers
  • 4 cans tomato soup
  • 3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large can mushrooms
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 buttons garlic

Directions

    Brown meat; to the browned meat add chopped celery, onions, green peppers and garlic.

    Add 2 tablespoons water; cover and steam until vegetables are tender.

    Cook noodles in water and drain.

    Mix all together with soup, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Spread into baking dish 2 inches deep (several, depending on size of the dish).

    Sprinkle cheese on top.

    Refrigerate for at least 12 hours before baking.

    To heat, place casserole in a cold oven at 250° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
