   Mix salt and water.

   Heat over low heat. Add cornstarch and cold water to heated mixture. Stir mixture until it becomes a smooth, pliant ball. (Reheat slowly, if necessary.)

   Cool before giving to children and supervise its use. Dye white dough with nontoxic food colorings and store in airtight plastic bags.

   Goop will dry to a hard finish when exposed to air for approximately 48 hours.
