- 3/4 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix cornmeal and milk.

2Set aside.

3In another bowl, beat eggs.

4Add butter or margarine and cream together.

5Then add maple syrup, baking powder, sifted flour and sugar, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

6Add cornmeal and milk mixture and stir to form a lumpy mixture (batter).

7Scoop into greased loaf pan and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes before slicing.

8Wonderful as a side dish with turkey or chicken!
