Maple-Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients
- about 4 pork chops (1-inch thick, I prefer boneless)
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- peanut oil or cooking oil
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. maple syrup
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- fresh ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. pecan pieces or walnuts
- 4 bay leaves
Directions

1Trim any excess fat off pork chops.

2Brown chops in oil and butter over medium heat, about 5 minutes each side.

3Reduce heat to medium-low.

4Sprinkle chops with pepper.

5Add bay leaf and pecans.

6Continue cooking on low heat (simmer) for 10 minutes. Add maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon.

7Turn chops.

8Cook about 5 minutes longer, until sauce has thickened slightly.

9Spoon sauce over chops and serve.
