Maple Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 6 thick cut pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 14 cup real maple syrup
  • 14 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • salt and pepper

    Preheat oven to 375.

    Add half of the olive oil to a large oven safe pan.

    Quickly sear the pork chops till they are just browned on each side and remove them and set aside in a baking pan.

    Add remaining oil and saute onion and garlic until onions are transparent being careful not to burn the garlic.

    Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer.

    let simmer for 5 - 6 minutes.

    Pour sauce over pork chops in the baking pan and cover.

    Cook for 35 - 45 minutes basting occasionally.

    uncover and cook 10 more minutes.

    Use a corn starch slurry to thicken sauce if desired.
