  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add milk and vanilla. Stir only enough to mix. Pour into greased 8-inch pan. Combine maple syrup, water and butter. Heat just to melt butter. Pour over cake batter. Do not stir. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Delicious.
