- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 stick butter or margarine, softened (6 Tbsp.)
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. maple extract
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped
- 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In medium bowl with hand, knead flour, butter or margarine and sugar until well blended.

3Divide dough into 16 pieces.

4Press dough pieces into bottoms and up sides of 16 (1 3/4-inch) muffin pan cups.

5In a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter.

6Remove from heat; stir in corn syrup, maple extract, egg and 1 tablespoon sugar.

7Sprinkle chopped walnuts evenly into each pastry cup; spoon syrup mixture on top.

8Bake 20 to 25 minutes until crust is lightly browned and toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

9Store in refrigerator.
