Marbled Brownies

  • 1 pkg. brownie mix (do not use mixes that include a syrup pouch)
  • 1 8 oz. PKG. cream cheese
  • 1/3 C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 c nuts (if desired)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350. Prepare brownie mix as shown on package (add nuts if desired); spread in 13 x 9 baking pan.

    Beat cream cheese with electric mixer on med speed until smooth. Add sugar until well blended. Add egg and vanilla; mix just til blended.

    Pour cream cheese mixture over brownie batter; cut through batter with knife several times for marble effect.

    Bake 35 to 40 min or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. Cool; cut into squares.
