  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 raw egg
  • 1/2 c. oatmeal or bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. coriander powder
  • 1 tsp. fresh grated ginger or 1/2 tsp. ground
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/8 tsp. ground red chili pepper (optional)
  • 2 tsp. tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. oil for frying
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper or to taste
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 c. water

    In a bowl, place ground meat, raw egg, bread crumbs, salt, spices and tomato paste.
