Marinated Carrots

  • 1 lb. carrots, cut in 1 1/2-inch chunks
  • 2 bell peppers, cut in strips
  • 1 medium onion, sliced in rings
  • 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    Cook carrots in salt water until tender and drain.

    Layer carrots, peppers and onion in bowl.

    Mix oil and soup together and pour over them.

    Mix sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce together.

    Heat, not quite to boiling, and pour over all.

    Keep refrigerated.

    The longer it stands, the better it gets.
