- Ice cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon dry vermouth
- 3 ounces chilled quality gin
- 1 or 3 green cocktail olives
Directions

1An hour before serving put a martini glass in the freezer.

2When ready to serve, fill a cocktail shaker or small pitcher with ice.

3Add the vermouth and then the gin.

4Cover and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds.

5(In general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready.)

6Strain the martini into the chilled glass.

7Add the olive and serve.
