  • 14 cup sugar
  • 12 cup milk
  • 1.5 (1/3 ounce) packages dry yeast
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 12 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups ground almonds
  • 2 egg whites
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

    For dough, stir 1 tsp sugar with milk adn sprinkle with yeast.

    Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.

    Sift flour, sugar and salt.

    Add melted butter and combine with flour.

    Knead on a floured surface cover and let rise for 40 minutes.

    Mix together almonds, egg white, sugar and vanilla.

    Roll out dough into a 18x12-inch rectangle, spread with filling.

    Roll up lengthwise and cut into 2 equal lengths.

    Twist together.
