- 4 Medium sized rutabagas
- 4 tablespoons Butter

1Peel and cut rutabagas.

2Place cut rutabagas in pot and cover with salted water.

3Boil. (According to my great aunts there are two vegetables that one can over cook--the lowly ruta and artichokes.)

4Drain water so that you retain about half a cup. Add butter. Mash. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
