Meat Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. finely shredded carrots (optional)
- 3 c. finely shredded cabbage
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of black pepper
- 1 (16 oz.) jar herb style spaghetti sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. chopped chives
- 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Directions

1In medium skillet, saute onion in butter until soft, not brown.

2Add ground meat.

3Cook until meat loses pink color.

4In a 2-quart casserole, layer the carrots and half the cabbage. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

5Add meat mixture.

6Press down slightly.

7Add remaining cabbage to spaghetti sauce.

8Add Worcestershire sauce and chives; pour sauce over top of casserole. Cover and bake at 350° for about 1 hour.

9Add cheese on top. Bake uncovered for 5 to 8 minutes until cheese is melted.

10Serve immediately.
