  • 1 (1 1/2 lb.) round loaf unsliced Sheepherder's or peasant bread
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 gree bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (1.25 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans with green chilies
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
  • shredded lettuce, guacamole and sour cream (optional accompaniments)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Slice top off bread loaf.

    Pull out soft inside (and reserve for another use), leaving a thick shell. Set aside.
