Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage, sauteed, crumbled and thoroughly drained
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round, sauteed, crumbled and thoroughly drained
  • 2 medium onions, chopped and slightly sauteed
  • 2 c. grated potatoes, cooked until done and thickened in sufficient water to cover
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

    Combine the first 4 ingredients and season with remaining ingredients.

    Bring to simmer and add 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water.

    Stir until thickened.

    Place filling in 2 (9-inch) pie crusts; cover with top crust and brush with cream or rich milk.

    Crimp edges and pierce top crust in several places.

    Bake in preheated 425° for 20 minutes.

    Lower heat to 350° and continue to bake until golden brown.

    Freezes well.
