  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. meal
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift the first 6 ingredients together, then add the egg, oil and buttermilk.

    Stir only until moist.

    Pour into greased iron skillet that is lined with bacon.

    Bake for 15 minutes at 400°; bake for 15 minutes at 450°.
