- 2 c. dried kidney beans or 4 c. cooked
- 3 tsp. salt
- 6 slices bacon
- 4 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 c. sweet pickle juice
- 1/4 c. coffee
- 6 onion slices
Directions

1Boil beans 2 minutes and soak 1 hour or overnight.

2Fry bacon half done; add fat to bean water and boil gently 2 hours.

3Drain. Mix all ingredients except bacon, coffee and onion.

4Bake 1 hour in 350° oven.

5Pour coffee over beans, bacon and onion slices. Bake 20 minutes longer at 400°.
