  • 1/2 lb. Longhorn cheese
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 to 5 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. grease
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (1 lb.) can cream-style corn

Directions

    Mix cornmeal, soda, salt, grease, milk, eggs and corn together. Pour half of batter in a greased skillet.

    Sprinkle cheese, onion, peppers and ground beef.

    Pour remainder of batter in skillet. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
