  • 3 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 2 1/2 c. sweet milk
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1/4 c. pimentos
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheese
  • 4 slices crisp, fried bacon, crumbled
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped or garlic salt
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 or 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

    Mix and bake at 400° for 30 minutes in a hot greased pan or skillet.

    Will not brown as well as regular cornbread, but can be set under flame of broiler to brown.
