- 2 lb. hamburger
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 c. cornmeal
- 1 can cream-style corn
- 1 can whole kernel corn
- 2 c. milk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. bacon fat
- 1 c. grated sharp cheese
- 3 hot jalapeno peppers
Directions

1Brown beef, onions and peppers.

2Combine meal, corn, milk, eggs, baking soda and baking fat in a large bowl.

3Pour half of batter in greased skillet or baking pan.

4Spoon meat mixture evenly over batter.

5Sprinkle with half of the cheese.

6Top with remaining batter.

7Sprinkle with rest of cheese.

8Bake in oven 40 to 45 minutes at 350°.

9Cool and cut into squares.
