  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. corn
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion and 1 bell pepper diced
  • 3 hot peppers (more for hotter)
  • 1 lb. browned, hot sausage

Directions

    Mix ingredients together, except sausage.

    Pour half of batter into 8 x 10-inch pan.

    Spread with browned sausage and then the rest of batter.

    Bake at 400° for 30 to 40 minutes.
