Mexican Taco Pie

- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 envelope taco mix
- 1 (16 oz.) jar thick and chunky picante sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 deep dish frozen pie crust
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 (4.5 oz.) can chopped green chilies
- 1/3 c. broken tortilla pieces
- shredded lettuce
- sour cream
Directions

1Brown ground beef; drain.

2Add taco mix and picante sauce. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.

3Remove from heat.

4Stir in beaten egg. Sprinkle frozen pie crust with 1/2 cup of cheese.

5Top with chilies, then add beef mixture over chilies.

6Top with remaining cheese.

7Bake in oven at 350° on cookie sheet for 20 to 25 minutes.

8Serve with lettuce and sour cream.
