- 3 qt. popped corn
- 1/2 c. peanuts
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda (added later)
Directions

1Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in a 2-quart glass bowl.

2Microwave on High setting 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute until mixture comes to a boil.

3Microwave 2 more minutes; stir in baking soda.

4Pour syrup mixture over popped corn and peanuts in paper bag; shake well.

5Microwave on High setting for 1 1/2 minutes.

6Shake bag well.

7Repeat microwave and shake steps.

8Pour caramelized popcorn into large roasting pan.

9Cool and stir to separate caramel corn kernels.
