Microwave Chocolate Cake Pudding

Ingredients

  • 110 g self raising flour
  • 110 g caster sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 30 g cocoa
  • 55 g margarine, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 110 g brown sugar
  • 30 g cocoa
  • 150 ml water

Directions

    To make the cake, mix together the flour, caster sugar, salt and 30g cocoa.

    Add melted margarine, egg, milk and vanilla to above mix.
  3. 3
    Stir well to combine and place in a medium sized microwavable bowl - the sides should be about 5cm high as cake will rise.

    Make the sauce by mixing the brown sugar with the remaining cocoa.

    Sprinkle on top of the batter.

    Warm water for 30 secs and tip on top of cake gently.

    Use a fork to gently prick a few holes in batter to allow some water to seep into it.

    Cook on high in microwave (800 watt) for 5 minutes.

    Serve with ice-cream or custard.
