Ingredients
- 3 c. milk
- 1 c. Crisco
- 3 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. potatoes, mashed (instant flakes)
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 10 to 11 c. unsifted flour
Directions

1Heat milk and shortening; cool.

2In a large bowl, dissolve yeast.

3Stir in 1/4 cup sugar from measurement and 1/2 cup warm water.

4Let stand 5 minutes.

5Add sugar, salt, flour, mashed potatoes and milk to yeast mixture.

6Blend all together.

7(Dough will be stiff.)

8Knead on floured board until smooth and elastic, about 5 to 8 minutes.

9Put dough in oiled bowl and cover.

10Let rise until double in size.

11Punch dough down again.

12When full, shape into breads.

13Place in oiled pans in warm place and let rise until full.

14Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
