- 1-1/2 qt. milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 cardamoms, peeled
- 1/4 tsp. saffron
- 2 cups maida
- 1 tbsp. rawa
- 1 dash salt
- Oil, for frying
Directions

1Sieve the maida well.

2Add rawa, salt and a little water and knead into a stiff dough.

3Continue kneading until dough is smooth.

4Set aside for ten minutes.

5Make lemon-sized balls and roll out into thin puris.

6Cut into four segments.

7Heat oil in a kadai and deep-fry the puris on medium flame.

8Drain excess oil.

9Boil the milk with the sugar until the quantity reduces to one litre.

10Remove from fire and sprinkle with saffron and cardamom seeds.

11Add colour if desired.

12Now add the prepared puris one by one.

13Delicious hot or chilled.
