Millinocket Fudge Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled *
• 1 3/4 c. flour
• 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 3/4 tsp. salt
• 1/2 c. milk
• 3/4 c. boiling water
