- 12 slices day old bread
- 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
- 1 c. white raisins
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 6 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Toast bread and spread with all the butter/margarine while hot.

2Arrange toast in buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with raisins. Stir salt and all but 4 tablespoons of sugar into the eggs.

3Add milk and stir to mix well.

4Pour over toast and let stand 10 minutes.

5Press toast lightly down into milk occasionally.

6Mix cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over the top.

7Place pan directly on oven rack in a 350° oven about 25 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean and top is golden brown.
