  • 3 lb. lean beef or ground meat
  • 1 pt. sweet milk
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. mace
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 qt. water
  • 1/4 lb. oleo
  • 1/2 pt. cream
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, cut up in medium-size chunks

Directions

    Boil meat and water until one quart of liquid remains.

    Add one pint of milk and 1/4 pound oleo.

    Remove meat; allow to cool. Grind and return to stock.

    Let it cook down a little more.

    Add flour dissolved in cream.

    Add seasoning.
