Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 15 oz. Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 16 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 32 oz. Prego extra chunky
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. flat egg noodles

Directions

    Brown ground beef and onion; drain.

    Add butter, salt, water and Prego sauce; set aside.

    Mix Ricotta cheese, eggs and oregano; set aside.

    Layer 1/3 of meat sauce; top with half noodles, half of Ricotta mixture, half Mozzarella cheese, 1/3 meat sauce, 1 cup noodles, rest of Ricotta mixture and rest of the sauce.

    Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

    Uncover, then top with remaining Mozzarella cheese and cook 15 minutes more.

    Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
