- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 quarts popped popcorn
Directions

1Preheat oven to 250°F.

2Melt butter and stir in sugar, syrup and salt.

3Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

4When boiling, continue to boil without stirring for 5 minutes.

5Remove from heat and stir in baking soda & vanilla. (Careful: this will foam up!).

6Place popped corn in 2 9 x 13 pans. Gradually pour caramel mixture over popped corn. Stir to coat.

7Bake at 250F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
